After a little more than three years, death metal legends Suffocation are returning to Močvara as part of a big summer tour. The date to write down in your notebook or mental map is July 12 (Wednesday), and this will be their only concert in this part of Europe. A limited contingent of early bird tickets at a price of 23 euros can be purchased at the Dirty Old Shop or through their website until May 2, after which the presale price will be 27 euros, at the entrance they will cost 30 euros.
Suffocation are death metal pioneers founded 35 years ago in Centereach, New York. They drew attention to themselves in 1991 with their debut Effigy of the Forgotten, which immediately became a classic of the genre. After that, they released seven more studio albums, the most current of which is Of the Dark Light from 2017, which they promoted last time in Močvara. Their last official release is the album Live In North America. They cited Napalm Death and Sepultura as their role models in the early stages of the band, while their playing trademark, breakdowns, is considered one of the cornerstones of a whole new subgenre: deathcore. The members of the band are lead guitarist Terrance Hobbs, bassist Derek Boyer, rhythm guitarist Charlie Errigo, drummer Eric Morotti and vocalist Ricky Myers, who has been a permanent member of the band since 2019, and is otherwise a vocalist in the American death metal band Disgorge. All in all, a nice party is being prepared in Močvara.
