After almost 15 years, black metal giants Dark Funeral are returning to Zagreb as part of the European “Let the Devil In” tour. They will be joined by the Italian sympho death metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse, then the ancient Rome-obsessed Ex Deo, which has as many as four of the five members of Kataklysm, and the evening will be opened by the French melodic deathcore band Kami No Ikari. This exceptional ceremony will take place on January 19 (Sunday) in Zagreb’s Boogaloo. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, September 19 at noon via Hangtime ticketing. The price of early bird tickets is 33 euros, and after they are sold out, the presale price will be 36 euros. On the day, if they are left, they will cost 39 euros. Soon they will be available in the Dirty Old Shop. The event starts at 17:30.
Dark Funeral is one of the biggest black metal names in general. It was founded by guitarists Blackmoon and Lord Ahriman in 1993 in Stockholm, while their “The Secrets of the Black Arts” certainly belongs to the classics of the genre. They have released seven albums so far, and the most current of them, “We Are the Apocalypse”, will be promoted on this occasion. From its very beginnings, the band did not look too favorably on Christianity in terms of its activities, playing and lyrics, while Anton Szandor LaVey was close to their hearts. The band members are: Lord Ahriman – guitar, Heljarmadr – vocals, Chaq Mol – guitar, Jalomaah – drums and Adra Melek – bass. Fans of fierce black metal thrashing and blast beats should definitely not miss this gig.

Fleshgod Apocalypse returns to Zagreb after nine years. Perugia is the city where they were born in 2007. Their spiritus movens Francesco Paoli was probably in all playing and creative positions in that band. Their style can be described as sympho/tech death metal, and since February 2024, it has been graced by the great vocalist Veronica Bordachinni. They have released six albums so far. The freshest of them, “Opera”, will be presented to the Croatian audience. Their collaboration with bands such as Epica and Kreator is also worth noting.

Ex Deo is a Canadian death metal band formed in 2008 in Montreal. It was founded by the charismatic frontman of the band Kataklysm, Maurizio Iacono, who has proven to be very popular in Croatia. They are thematically related to the Roman Empire, which is of course also connected to Maurizio’s Italian roots. During the performance, the band wears slightly modified uniforms of the Roman legions. They have recorded four studio albums so far, and it is certainly worth noting that they collaborated with Nergal from Behemoth and Karl Sanders from Nile, as well as members of bands like Septicflesh, Gravevorm, Tristania, Keep of Kalessin.
