MORCHEEBA, Boćarski dom, Zagreb, 4 November 2023.
THE BRITISH ELECTRONIC ATTRACTION MORCHEEB IS COMING TO PERFORM AN EXCLUSIVE CONCERT AT THE ZAGREB BOWLING HALL ON SATURDAY 04.11.2023.
On Saturday 04.11. In 2023, the British electronic attraction Morcheeb will hold an exclusive concert in Zagreb’s Boćarski dom, for which it is specially coming to Zagreb. With its frequent visits, Morcheeba enchanted the Zagreb, i.e. Croatian, audience, so we can safely say that Morcheeba belong to a special category of favorites among the local audience! Combining elements of trip-hop, alternative rock, R&B, folk and downtempo, Morcheeba have become a world-famous name with their musical story. Through their impressive career, they earned a large number of fans all over the world, but they are also one of the performers who regularly visit our region.
Morcheebau was formed in the mid-1990s by singer Skye Edwards and brothers Paul and Ross Godfrey. Their musical style could be described as a combination of trip hop, rock, folk rock and downtempo. They released ten studio albums, two of which reached the top ten in the UK.
Morcheebu released their first EP “Trigger Hippie” in 1995 in London at the time of the trip-hop breakthrough, which marked their path to international success. The first album “Who Can You Trust?” follows, which is one of their most appreciated albums, and the following “Big Calm”, “Fragments of Freedom” and “Charango” spawned numerous hits such as “Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day” , “The Sea”, “Trigger Hippie”, “Undress Me Now” or “Part Of The Process”.
In 2014, Edwards and Ross Godfrey formed the Skye & Ross project and released the self-titled album in September 2016.
Morcheebae’s latest studio album, “Blackest Blue”, was released in May 2021 and was very well received by critics who described it as an outstanding and fresh album, reaching number 14 in the UK 100 Top Charts. The album was preceded by the singles “Sounds of Blue”, “Oh Oh Yeah” and “The Moon”. The title “Blackest Blue” comes from a line from the album “The Moon” by Croatian singer-songwriter Irene Žilić. Namely, Ross fell in love with the song and asked Irene’s permission to cover it, and Skye added another verse and a new song was born: “Blackest Blue”. They also collaborated on the album with Brad Barr from The Barr Brothers and Duke Garwood.
At this concert in Zagreb, in addition to the promotion of the new album, we can also expect a cross-section of the group’s work from the very beginning until today, and considering that the concert is on Saturday, we believe that it will also be a concert to remember.
Boćarski dom hall is located at Prisavlje 2 in Zagreb. The doors of the hall will open at 19:00, and the start of the concert is scheduled for 20:00. Tickets are on sale through the Entrio.hr system, online and at Entrio points of sale, as well as in the Dirty Old Shop located in Trantinska Street no. 34 in Zagreb (tickets can also be purchased through their web shop). The ticket price is €40 in advance, and €45 on the day of the concert.
