England has Venom, Sweden has Bathory and Japan has Sabbat! Sabbat was founded in 1984 and is undoubtedly one of the most important and influential Japanese bands in terms of traditional Black Metal and metal in general. This short European tour will mark 40 years of the band’s existence and over 220 (yes, you read that right, 220) official releases in their discography! With extreme pride, we bring their majesty to our favorite Močvara club, squealing like pips, because this is one of those bands that sounds like no other band in the entire universe. You just can’t listen to one thing as the mew gallops on telling you stories from hell about the dark realities of depraved minds as she pulls you deeper and deeper inside. And not necessarily only through the lyrics, but also through the music itself, sound and production. The riffs were forged in hell itself and brought to the surface of the earth through some strange channels of Japanese sorcery. Technically they are relatively simple, but the sky turns from blue to blood red when these guys roll the death train, which proves for the hundredth time that music doesn’t have to be ultra complex to blow us away. You need to have a story and communicate with us well. Also, no matter how aggressive, fast and rigorous Sabbat’s muse is, it is not unmelodic, and of course some solos flow into the story. Their concerts are, to say the least, legendary, characterized by intense energy, spikes, bullets, chains and theatrical “monkeying”, which brings us to the very fact that the band’s influence has spread widely outside of Japan, and their muse has inspired a lot of metal bands around the world. Despite the line-up changes over these 40 years, Gezol has remained the band’s driving force and thus ensured that the essence of Sabbat remains intact. One little interesting trivia is that Fenriz dedicated Darkthrone’s song “I am the graves of the 80s” to him. To this day, Sabbat stands as a testament to the unwavering strength and power of underground metal and the relentless pursuit of artistic integrity.

Gruesome! A band woven from the cream of the crop of musicians. They were created in 2014 as a tribute to Death. How? Well, ex-drummer of Malevolent Creation, Gus Rios and Matt Harvey, whose mother band is Exhumed, invited Daniel Gonzalez, guitarist from Possessed, to play heavy Death-inspired death metal. Along the way, they were joined by bassist Robin Mazen, who has always traveled with bands on tours as a manager/roadie, and has also done that for King Diamond, Fear Factory, Deathklok, etc. On this tour, Exhumed’s other guitarist, Sebastian Phillips, joins them.
Gruesome has two albums behind them, their last one, Twisted Prayers, was released in 2018, and they released their last release in 2020, a split with Exhumed. Gruesome plays that natural death metal from the other dimension of death, where you can hear in the sound the release of monsters that stalk the body and senses until they suck you into a portal and spit you out as an undefined pile of flesh and blood. They are here for the first time and we will allow them to melt our faces and pierce our ears with rusty nails.

Once upon a time in the lively seaside town of Rijeka, there was a band called Krematorium. Their story began in late 2007, amidst the raw energy of the city known as “the city of rock”. The band was forged from the flames of youthful rebellion and a shared love for the aggressive sound of Thrash Metal. At the heart of the band were five friends: Erik, Tomislav, Dino, Domagoj and Miljen who came together because of their mutual passion for aggressive music and their desire to break free from the shackles of everyday life. With guitars in their hands and dreams of fame in their hearts, they set out to conquer the local music scene. Their adventure was certainly filled with a handful of challenges because unfortunately they live in a world where mainstream pop music rules. But, fueled by determination, ferocity and beers, they continued their fight. They spent their weekends honing their skills in a cramped musty garage where the walls echoed with the thunderous sound of hard scraping. They wrote songs about the rebellion, angst and struggle of young metalheads, channeling their frustrations into snappy riffs and galloping rhythms. As word of their metal skills slowly spread, they began to attract a loyal following and in 2015 they released their first album “Body Bags”. Their concerts were wild, full of mosh pits and headbanging. Years passed, and Crematorium continued to evolve despite all the hardships and personal and social conflicts, perfecting their sound and pushing the limits of their creativity and of course the Opel Kadett, which they continue to push to this day. For members of Crematorium, the journey is far from over. In a few days, 29.3 to be exact. Their single “Moonshine Rider” is coming out from their as yet unreleased album, which they will present to us with a partial performance in Močvara. As long as there are guitars and hops grow, the young people of Rijeka will forever push the opel, raise the horns and keep the flame of thrash metal alive and eternal. The end.
