Dream Theater’s recent performance in Zagreb was a monumental occasion as part of their “An Evening with Dream Theater 2024 – 2025” world tour, celebrating four decades of their legendary music. They kicked off this tour with a sold-out three-hour show at London’s O2 Arena, featuring an impressive 18-song set divided into two acts, followed by a half-hour encore.

Fans were ecstatic to hear six songs that hadn’t been played in over ten years, along with fresh tracks from their upcoming album “Parasomnia” scheduled for release in February 2025. The standout moment was the debut of the new single “Night Terror,” which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Adding to the excitement was the return of original drummer Mike Portnoy, who rejoined the iconic lineup of John Petrucci, James LaBrie, John Myung, and Jordan Rudess. This marked Portnoy’s first collaboration with the band since 2009’s “Black Clouds & Silver Linings”.

The evening was filled with emotional highlights, particularly when band paid tribute to  Portnoy late sister, a moment that resonated deeply with the audience. Standout performances included beloved tracks like “Pull Me Under” and “Home,” showcasing Dream Theater’s remarkable ability to intertwine complex musicianship with profound storytelling. This concert not only celebrated their legacy but also set an exciting tone for the new chapter ahead.
