SELBST, a Black Metal band formed in 2010 in Venezuela by multi-instrumentalist/lyricist N and vocalist Frozen; opened the concert. Interestingly, the band changed location from Venezuela (early) to Santiago, Chile (later). The first self-titled full-length was released in 2017 with great underground acclaim. Themes the band deals with evolve around anti-religion and individualism. The band had a very interesting performance and offered their vision of black metal with many digressions that led us into an enchanted atmosphere of total personal freedom and totally different world that could be.

ULCERATE, an avant-garde/technical death metal band, was formed in New Zealand in 2002 were the absolute stars of the evening! Themes and songs revolve around: humanity, suffering, destruction and others. Since their last release, they’ve put out a remarkable album, “Stare into Death and Be Still” (2020), along with multiple singles from their forthcoming album, “Cutting the Throat of God”, set to drop on June 14 this year. Their blend of technical skill and atmospheric depth has created a distinctive sound and style that sets them apart, marking them as one of the rare standout bands. On top of that, their live performances have proven them to be an unstoppable force on stage.

Ulcerate came to Zagreb 7 years after their first show here. The overall gig was unstoppable machinery that grinded all before them as the band possessed the unique ability to draw you into their unique and special atmosphere so leaving the venue to go to the bar or a quick smoke was out of the question. The band enchanted Močvara and the audience loved them extremely much! Great gig and somewhat of a highly pleasant surprise to those that came unprepared! There were several highlights of the evening but especially powerful was the performance of “Everything Is Fire” with every song being accepted by the audience exceptionally well. The feedback from the audience was truly extraordinary and fired-up so we couldn’t be more glad that a band of that calibre had an extremely good gig in Zagreb!
