Chino Moreno from Deftones and producer and multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez present their project ††† (Crosses) in Zagreb’s Culture Factory on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
The premiere performance in our region takes place as part of the Familiar World tour, which accompanies the release of the new album “Goodnight, God Bless, I Love You, Delete”. The long-awaited material leads the duo to performances in North America, some of which are sold out weeks in advance, as well as in Europe, and the performance in Croatia will be the only one in the region.
Chino Moreno, vocalist and songwriter of the metal band Deftones, and Shaun Lopez, guitarist of the rock band Far and music producer, combined their individual talents in a joint project ††† (Crosses). As one of the most respected vocalists, Moreno is praised for the fact that he can switch his vocals from a gentle tenor to a piercing scream in an instant, and this is precisely the link to his numerous projects. The music he creates with Lopez as ††† (Crosses) is characterized by modular synths as well as vocals that convey deep emotions, and the media describe the sound as dark wave or dark pop.
The latest album “Goodnight, God Bless, I Love You, Delete” presents personal reflections on numerous ideas as well as long-standing creative friendship, all connected with minimalistic arrangements and Moreno’s memorable vocals. Heralded by the singles “Invisible Hand”, “Light as a Feather” and “Ghost Ride”, the album is full of contrasts between emotions and eclectic musical styles. The album also includes the single “Big Youth” featuring El-P of Run The Jewels, as well as “Girls Float † Boys Cry” featuring The Cure’s Robert Smith.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday, February 15 from 10:00 a.m. at the first price of 26 euros. That price will be valid until March 17, and the day after it rises to 29 euros. On the day of the concert, 33 euros will need to be allocated for tickets.
