Formed in the late seventies, Discharge changed the face of punk and indeed extreme music itself, with their stunning EP ‘Realities Of War’, four songs of pure intensity that reduced punk to its core components of anger, frustration and violent rebellion.
Discharge encountered a sound that was so ugly, it was beautiful; so terrifying it was irresistible – and it started a whole new wave of gnarlier, meaner UK punk and eventually paved the way for hardcore and thrash.
The unstoppable Discharge spawned a mountain of bands and created its own genre – Discore or D-Beat, as it is now known worldwide.
We are seeing them for the first time in Zagreb, in Boogaloo on 26.11.
