CONCERT IN MEMORIAM BRANIMIR VUGDELJIJA – BRANE WITH THE GROUPS EMBRIO, PHANTASMAGORIA AND THE COUNTESS AND ON WEDNESDAY 07.06.2023. IN ZAGREB BOOGALOO CLUB
On Wednesday 07.06.2023. (Thursday is a non-working day) a memorial will be held for the first time in Zagreb’s popular club Boogaloo in honor of the Sinj rock legend Branimir Vugdelia – Branet, the singer of the gothic rock group Embrio, who unfortunately ended his life driving a motorcycle in 2007. The concert will feature Branet’s band Embrio, Zagreb’s dark metallers Phantasmagoria and Sinj’s gothic metallers The Countess.
“Brana’s memorial” is held once a year in honor of a talented musician, passionate biker and great man who died too soon. Brane, with his energy and infectious enthusiasm, set in motion an entire musical generation, so a good number of today’s musicians from Sinj will single him out as one of their role models. He personally helped many people in their musical beginnings. This year we are celebrating the 16th anniversary of Bran’s death, and at the memorial we will celebrate his music, ideas and character.
Until now, every year the memorial was held only in his native Sinj, but as Brane spent part of his life studying in Zagreb, if he left his roots in Zagreb, he was part of the alternative Zagreb scene.
At the Zagreb edition, in addition to his parent group Embrio, which has also played with him on several occasions in Zagreb, the Zagreb darkmen Phantasmagoria will also perform, with whom Brane played for some time while he was in Zagreb, as well as became close to the members of the group. Sinj’s gothic metal group The Countess, who just released their debut album “Sacramental” and who will be presented at this concert, and for whom this will be their first performance in Zagreb.
Doors open at 20:00, The Countess will start at 20:30, Phantasmagoria at 21:30 and Embrio at 22:45. Before, between and after the concert, DJ Tomi Phantasma will play his popular program from the 2000s called “Twilight”, which Brane himself often attended and played as part of that program with Embria in Zagreb’s Močvara.
The price of tickets is 10 € in advance and 12 € on the day of the concert, and can be purchased through the Entrio.hr system, online and at Entrio sales points, while tickets with a picture of the house can only be purchased at the Zagreb music shop Dirty Old Shop as well as ordered through their web shop.
