After playing several times in neighboring countries, black metal giants Gorgoroth are finally coming to Croatia! The blackening ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Boogaloo. Their premiere performance as part of the “Black Metal Revelation” tour will be magnified by the Dutch blackers Doodswens, the Swiss Tyrmfar and the French Hats Barn. The pre-sale price of tickets that can be bought in the Dirty Old Shop and on their website is 26 euros (you can pick them up at the entrance to the club). On the day, if there are any left, it will cost 29 euros.

Gorgoroth is a band that comes from the mecca of black metal, the Norwegian city of Bergen, where it was formed in 1992. It was founded by Infernus, and the name itself refers to a valley in the northwestern part of Mordor in Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings”. There are a lot of interesting things about this band, which in any case is a must-read for every, at least superficial, consumer of black metal. One of them is that they had their first performance in 1994 at the Black Metal Nights festival, which was also the first performance of bands such as Dark Funeral, Enslaved and Dissection, while it was the first performance abroad for the Swedish Marduk. So far, they have released nine studio albums, and the permanent members, apart from the aforementioned Infernus, are Thomas Asklund on drums and vocalist Atterigner, real name Stefan Todorović, a native of Kragujevac who is celebrating 10 years of working with the band this year.
Doodswens (in Dutch “dood swens – desire to die”) is a black metal band founded in 2017 in Eindhoven. The names of the members are interesting to them: I. on drums, S. on guitar and N. on vocals and bass. So far they have three releases: the demo “Doodswens” (2019), the split “From the Shadows of the Abyss” (2020) and the full album “Lichtvrees” (2022).

Tyrmfar is a melodic black metal band, but death fans will also find something for themselves. It was created in the Swiss town of Monthey exactly 10 years ago, and during that period they recorded one EP and three studio albums, of which the current “Dialect of the Ego and the Unconscious” from 2022 will be promoted at Boogaloo.

Hats Barn is a French black metal band formed in 2005 in Lille. They nurture quite a sound of the old Norwegian school, so fans of the earlier stage of legends of the genre such as Mayhem, Darkthrone and Burzum should definitely pay attention to this band. The name of the band is a kind of homage to them: “hats barn” means “sons of hatred” in Norwegian. In their 18 years of existence, they recorded six studio albums. The last of them, Y.a.HW.e.H, was published on the great YouTube channel “Black Metal Promotion” (which is a real treasure for everyone who likes this expression), and on this occasion they will be able to listen to it live before Gorgoroth’s performance.
