Meshuggah: monumental tour opening in Budapest, with a guest appearance by Avatar
On March 7, Meshuggah will finally present its latest album in Budapest. The Swedish extreme metal band will start their tour here, which will be even more special thanks to a coincidence, as it will be combined with Avatar’s concert, so with one ticket we will be able to see all the bands from both tours on two stages in Barba Negra.
Meshuggah is preparing for a monumental tour: in the spring, the countries that were left out of the previous album presentation concert series will finally be on the continent.
Meshuggah has gained serious recognition in our country with its innovative, progressive, restless and endlessly creative attitude, and is considered one of the innovative bands of metal music, for 30 years now. The Swedes’ ninth album, 2022’s Immutable, also continued on this special path, offering songs with an irresistible and extremely disturbing sound.
The team is known for its special moves and legendary performances, and the surprising turn is no less. They will be accompanied by The Halo Effect and Mantar throughout the European tour, but we are also expecting a special guest for the tour opening in Budapest: this will be the only venue where they will perform together with Avatar!
Avatar’s solo tour starts already in January, but they will not arrive in the Hungarian capital until spring, on March 7th. This gave rise to the idea that Concerto Music, which organizes the domestic performance, will turbocharge the evening into a two-stage, double headliner Swedish metal celebration. Combining heavy metal and rock ‘n roll elements with gloomy and unbridled energies, Avatar will present the album The Great Metal Circus this time. The first single, Dirt I’m Buried In, is the group’s first record that reached number one on the American Billboard mainstream rock chart.
In Barba Negra on March 7, we can therefore see two shows with one ticket, which – together with Avatar’s backing band – means 5 concerts, after the doors open in the late afternoon. Discounted advance tickets go on sale on September 29 at 11 a.m. See less
