HEAVY INDUSTRY – The first 50

The band Teška industrija convincingly belongs to the very top of the Croatian and regional music scene, which with numerous hits permanently conquers the domestic radio airwaves and charts.

Teška industrija was founded in Sarajevo in 1973 and since then has been writing the musical history of our region as a band that was and remains synonymous with the Sarajevo pop-rock school. From the first days, the band found solid leadership in the renowned Croatian artist, painter, set designer, and designer Ivica Propadal, who is the band’s leader and bassist and one of its founders.

Along with him, one of the founders of the band is Vedad Hadžiavdić, composer, arranger, songwriter and guitarist of the band. Recognizable vocal expression is entrusted to longtime female vocalist Leia Mijatović, who wins over the audience with her specific vocal bravado and stage performance. On the drums is the great Robert Domitrović, and on the black and white keys is the talented keyboardist Marko Palameta.

In the last twenty years since the comeback album “Kantina”, Teška industrija released four more albums: “Call the album by its real name”, “We were in paradise”, the double album “XL Nakon” and “Selfie”.

Teška industrija is a band known for top musical and stage performances at cultural events, city squares and, of course, for equally unforgettable performances at guitar parties and motorcycle rallies.

Ten years ago, they celebrated their 40th anniversary in the sold-out Vatroslav Lisinski Hall in Zagreb. At the prominent concert, the importance and popularity of this band was confirmed by special guests Zdravko Čolić, Arsen Dedić, Kemal Montano, Nikša Bratoš, Zoran Predin, Mišo Bartulica and many other renowned musical artists who shared the stage with Teška industrija.

Teška industrija will once again celebrate its jubilee, 50 years of existence, in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, where it will perform a memorable concert with many surprise guests.
