PUNK LEGENDS THE EXPLOITED AGAIN IN ZAGREB! THEY ARE COMING AS PART OF THEIR EUROPEAN TOUR “DISORDER TOUR 2023” ON WEDNESDAY 10.05.2023. IN ZAGREB BOOGALOO CLUB
Punk rock legends The Exploited are coming to Zagreb again as part of their European tour “Disorder tour 2023” on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Local punk legends, Sibenik punk group Nula, will perform as special guests.
The Exploited, a legendary punk band founded in 1979 in Edinburgh, is reputed to be one of the most important and biggest names in the punk rock scene along with Sex Pistols, Ramomes, The Clash, Dead Kennedys! The Exploited are the leaders of the second punk generation because with their legendary exclamation “punk’s not dead”, from the song of the same name and from the album of the same name, they brought punk back to life after the crisis in the punk scene caused by the breakup of the Sex Pistols, the departure of The Clash and most other punk rock bands into more commercial waters,….. The album “Punk’s Not Dead”, released in 1981, is considered one of the punk classics and is one of the most important and best-selling punk rock albums of all time.
The alpha and omega of the whole story is the punk icon, the singer of the group Wattie, who has been playing punk uncompromisingly for more than 40 years, regardless of his recent health problems with his heart.
The second album “Troops Of Tomorrow”, named after the song of the same name originally by punk rock legends The Vibrators, continued the success of their debut and placed The Exploited alongside Dead Kennedys, UK Subs, GBH, Discharge, as the biggest punk rock band at the time . The Exploited have not only influenced the punk scene, but also have a great influence on the metal scene, so many big metal bands like Slayer, Sepulture, Anthrax, Napalm Death, Ministry, etc. mention them as their role models.
In 1996, The Exploited released their seventh album “Beat The Bastards”, with which they broke all records and left all fans of hard music “open-mouthed” because the album literally “kills”, the music literally conveys all Wattie’s anger and frustrations of this world, creating energy like a tornado that cuts down everything in front of it! The song “Beat The Bastards” itself achieved huge success and became one of the anthems of the new punk and metal generation and other rebels!
The Exploited released eight albums, of which the last one, “Fuck The System” from 2003, is still relevant.
The Exploited performed for the first time in our former country, i.e. in Zagreb, in 1984 in the RANS Moša Pijade hall, the same hall where they will perform again after almost 40 years, but today that hall is called the Boogaloo Club! In the meantime, they performed two more times in Boogaloo, in 2005 and 2010, at the festival “Opatijske Barufe” in 2011 in Opatija, and in 2017 at Vintage Industrial Bar in Zagreb, where unfortunately Wattie was not present.
Local punk legends, the reactivated Nula from Šibenik, will perform as special guests at this concert. Zero reputation for an uncompromising socially politically oriented hard core punk band, pure, real punk! They recently reissued their debut album “Pobijedimo laž”, published 25 years ago in the era of dangerous times when it was not allowed to express one’s opinion publicly if it did not coincide with the views of the authorities, regardless of the fact that we supposedly lived in a democratic society at the time. (However, it’s not much better now, so punk still has its purpose!) Then Nula showed her teeth and released one of the most important punk albums of recent times in our country, so they are the best overture for The Exploded show!
The start of the concert is announced at 8:00 p.m., ticket prices are €16 for the first 200 tickets (100 via the Entrio.hr system and 100 tickets through or at the Dirty Old Shop), €20 after that and €22 on the day of the concert.
